What was billed, net and honest
Revenue’s ledger is the billing register. May holds 84 documents netting to 1,858,000.00: 78 invoices, four credits with their reasons, two debits, and all three dates on every row because the month depends on which one a report reads.
◆ May billing, by typethree types, one net.
| Billing type | Documents | Value |
|---|---|---|
| Customer invoices | 78 | 1,872,400.00 |
| Credit memos | 4 | -21,300.00 |
| Debit memos | 2 | 6,900.00 |
| Net billed, May | 84 | 1,858,000.00 |
The 78 invoices bill 78 of the month’s deliveries; the due list holds the other six. Three of the four credits are the returns page’s 9,840.00 coming home; the fourth corrects pricing at 11,460.00. Sample values are illustrative, never client data.
◆ Three dates, three answersand reports pick silently.
A billing document carries a billing date, a posting date, and a service-rendered date, and delivered reports choose among them without announcing it. Month-end revenue moves depending on the pick. The register shows all three, so every reader knows which month they are looking at.
◆ The cancellation trapgross that counts twice.
A cancelled invoice leaves two documents behind, original and reversal, and gross reads double-count the pair. Practitioners report quarter-end gross analyses inflated exactly this way. The register pairs cancellations off and reads net by construction.
