The asset book, as of any date
Lenders and auditors ask for book value on their date, not today’s. The store keeps three month-ends here: 6,523,500.00, then 6,336,000.00, then 6,788,500.00, each the figure that was true when that month signed.
◆ Three month-endsthe latest already promised.
| Net book value, as of | Balance |
|---|---|
| 31 March 2026 | 6,523,500.00 |
| 30 April 2026 | 6,336,000.00 |
| 31 May 2026 | 6,788,500.00 |
April is March less the run’s 187,500.00, a quiet month. May is April plus the 640,000.00 refresh minus the same run, which is the register’s bottom line exactly. The as-of hub collects the family this page joins. Sample values are illustrative, never client data.
◆ Who asks for past dateslenders, insurers, auditors.
The lender’s covenant measures on its date, the insurer schedules on renewal day, and the auditor tests year-end. Each wants the figure that was true then, and a register rebuilt through a later disposal quietly answers a different question than the one asked.
◆ The owned answerany month is a filter.
One row per asset per month on the module star makes any month-end one read, matching what was reported at the time. The payables and receivables twins keep the same discipline for what is owed and owing.
